XBMC2 and FC6

I’ve been trying out the relecently released Xbox Media Centre 2 today, there doesn’t seem to be that many new features except USB mass storage/FAT32 support, which means with a suitable controller->USB adaptor, you can plug in up to a 4Gb USB card reader or hard disk.

The release of Fedora Core 6 has been put back a week, I tried test3 and it wasn’t exactly release-ready due to Anaconda problems mostly, then a pseudo test4/RC1 was released, with a few AIGLX fixes, but now there’s talk of ext3/iSCSI problems.

Tuesday

Me, Dad and a friend have been putting in the new windows in the shell today, we got soaked from the rain, but we’ve got two of the four done already, minus some cementing.

The chap from #9 gave us some free bricks, so Dad made a nice sill for the largest window and we’ve been using them to pad out the smallest window.

The wiring on Dad’s trailer has been ripped off again – seems to be a monthly occurance! 🙁

Saturday

Dad and I picked up my four new windows today, they’ll start going in on Tuesday, we’ve also got to treat some woodworm in a beam in my utility room (and the shell of course).

I’ve got a telephone interview on Monday. I’ve had a few time-wasters contacting me about permanent jobs (like Yahoo!) and stupid start-up companies with no money, also people seem to be taking their time getting from CV to interview, a lot of HR people on holiday it seems….

Mon chat

I have finally decided to get a cat.

Mum & Pippa came over earlier with a female cat they got from the woman down the road from Pip’s.
