Thursday

I got my 25ukp Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 router today. I put X-wrt 0.9 on it and put it into wireless bridge mode so I can use it as a range extender or a “gaming adaptor” for my Xbox. It’s much smaller than my Linksys WRT54GL, it has better speed and range despite having only one antenna. Work was ridiculously busy today, lots of testing/writeups had to be done by the end of the day or earlier, as well as having about six voice calls to go on.

Back in the UK

After my lovely return to France for two weeks, I’m back in England. Traffic jams, Tesco’s, not so great weather (although not as bad as Ipswich can be) and bugger all people at work, but plenty to do at least. I left Mum & Dad’s about 8am Sunday and arrived at my place in Ipswich (after getting a kebab) about 8pm. I missed junction 12 to the N154 and went almost all the way to Paris on the A10.

Sickly Monday

I slept most of Sunday and therefore couldn’t sleep last night, had a terrible headache, aching and puking. I was up and out to Tesco’s to get some paracetamol, Lucozade and Lemsip by 7am, and in work by half past! I’m still feeling pretty bad, although mainly just a horrible flavour in my mouth and constantly blowing my nose. Hopefully I’ll be better by Wednesday so as not to infect Mum (if she’s still coming) and Nanny.

Sunday morning

Urgh, think I’ve got a chest infection coming as I can’t clear my throat and when I cough I get a nasty taste. Just watched Barnyard, which JP will absolutely love as it’s a load of talking/dancing cows etc.

Slow Saturday

Been a bit of a slow day today, I went to the pub for lunch, did the washing, popped to Tesco – that reminds me, I must ask Pip what it was she wanted from Tesco – treacle or something weird. I tried out the 2.6.20 kernel, which seemed to screw with ALSA, but I’ve mostly got it fixed now, VMWare and Nvidia were no problem. I phoned Mum & Dad.
