I had Pip and Jacques over today for lunch, I did lardon salad, smoked salmon carbenara, and finished off with some of Mum’s blackberry and apple tart and icecream. It was very nice, Jacques didn’t seem keen though.

Mum got me some new phones for my FreeADSL, Pip got them working with me today, so I’ve got five phones spread around the lounge, kitchen and my bedroom.

Dad painted the front door on the shell today, it looks lovely, and it turns out that the glass bit of the door can open seperately from the frame. We have to paint the other doors, and then maybe the shutters I sanded next.

My bath/shower is fixed now, thanks to Dad and my uncle 🙂

I’ve got a dose of the squirts a bit, due to the steak hache from Cora I think.

I’ve been tidying the house a bit, putting all the washing away, stuff in the loft/shell etc.

I went to Pip’s earlier to put some stuff in the loft for her, she made a lovely chicken pie for us and Jacques behaved pretty well. Pip cut my hair with the trimmers, it’s pretty short, about a grade 2 all over.

I’ve finished setting up Greivous – things like gAIM, Firefox extensions, services etc.

I copied over the MP3’s etc and free’d up the space on Solo. I’ve backed up the boot drive onto the Firewire drive.

I’ve created a big NFS/Samba/FTP pool on the LAN with a total capacity of about 1.5 Terrabytes and shared the printer via CUPS.

I went to Limoges shopping today with Mum and my Aunt, then we picked up my cousin from the airport.

I’ve rebuilt Greivous with the new 80Gb HDD, installed Fedora 5 and downloaded about 1.2Gb worth of updates and new programs. It seems to be running quite stable, moreso than it used to with FC3, it’s got about 14 hours of uptime today. Gonna move the MP3’s etc. over from Solo tomorrow.

Been applying for jobs today, got some good prospects in the West End and Kent. There seems to be a few bits around Yorkshire, Lancashire, Surrey, Gloucester, Bristol and Manchester, as well as London, the market is definitely picking up! So I might be back in Blighty in a couple of weeks 🙁

We just had a fright as Jacques somehow managed to get a bottle of children’s paracetomol from on top of the fridge, take off the child-proof lid and drink a third of it. He’s fine though after getting the antidote from the doctor. That kid is too big/strong/intelligent for his own good….
