Monday

I finally got my job offer – a little more than I was expecting, and have sent off my company/personal details ready to get a contract sorted for me to start at Ipswich on Monday. I’ve booked a ferry for Sunday afternoon.

I’ve had Pippa’s cat Rosie up in the loft for a couple of days hunting for mice, she seems to have disappeared up there, although she has used her litter tray, so is there somewhere in amongst the insulation I guess! Clio is a bit too little for mousing, although she’s downstairs practicing with her toys 😉

Agency fun

I got a phonecall from the agency this morning saying that they will get a contract out to me by Monday to start the following Monday. The guy said he’d Email me a company/bank details form to fill in and then hung up before I could ask him his name or contact details. Well that was six hours ago and still no Email. I wonder if this is the guy who phoned two weeks ago asking if I was interested in the job, and never Emailed me his contact details like he said he would?!

Wednesday

Just found that Lovefilm has merged with Screenselect, so the two best DVD rental companies in the UK are now one big company. So you get the speed and range of Lovefilm, plus the Xbox games and pr0n of Screenselect! I can see I’m going to need to buy some DVD-R’s and take my XBox and a computer with me to England.

Pip said that Tesco’s is right by work, so shopping won’t be a problem.

Dutch Tuesday

I found out this morning that I didn’t get the Amsterdam job, in fact I saw it re-advertised before the agency even bothered to contact me! Apparently it was down to lack of financial experience, which seems like crap as that wasn’t in the job spec, and did it really take two interviews and three weeks for them to figure that out – did they not read my CV?!

Anyway, so hopefully off to Ipswich to work with Phil for 3 months, getting away from WebDev and into network security, although not heard from them yet either!
