Xmas Spirit?

It’s three weeks until Christmas and I still don’t really feel Xmassy. I’m sure the TV and shops etc. are usually more into Xmas by now. I’m listening to “Now Thats What I Call Christmas” in a bid to cheer myself up! Not helped by the fact that I’ve been ill most of the weekend which I think was due to a funny onion/garlic dip. I’m getting demob-happy as is usual near the end of a contract (although I’m back mid-Jan!

Saturday

Not feeling too bad today, I’ve done my washing, taken out the trash, hoovered and sorted out the gifts etc; to go back to France. I watched Waitress last nigth, well partially this morning too – in fact it was so slow/boring I had to split it into three sessions! I also watched The Last Sentinel the other day, that was really bad too – another “we build some robots and they turned on us humans” film.

Friday

I feel like death today – well not that bad, but pretty ill. I’ve got a cold, just been to Tesco’s for Beechams, Lemsip etc; just had some baked beans with lots of garlic thrown all over too! I think it’s going to be a mainly sleeping weekend interrupted with watching the occasional movie! I got my cool 150w power inverter for the car. Its looks like a Coke can and has English/French/US plug sockets on the end as well as USB (for charging MP3 players and phones, GPS’s etc; that come with USB chargers).

Weekend

I got my batteries and charger from Argos on Saturday, had lunch at the pub then went to Tesco’s, which was a huge mistake. I thought I’d go at lunch so it wouldn’t be too busy. How wrong can a person be?! There were literally two spaces left in the car park. I kind of did a smash’n’grab – got my newspaper, some drink and stuff for a curry then legged it (without half the stuff I went for) before I lost the will to live.

Weekend

I got my hair cut on Saturday, I hate the way you have to wait an hour for a ten minute haircut! I cooked a chicken balti on Saturday using a Tesco’s mix, it has been OK, but it seems more like a sweet’n’sour or marinade than a curry – not really got the Indian taste. I had a nice bacon sarnie for breakfast, just to stick two fingers up at the morons who claim it gives you cancer – as everything does these days it seems.
