Thursday

I managed to get the Destinator6 2006 maps onto my GPS, although there doesn’t seem to be any way to import the speed camera database. I also figured out why the Chatres waypoint on my Boulogne->Chaillac route always seems a bit off – it’s because I need Chartres, with the extra ‘R’, which is along the N154 with Dreux etc; not just outside Paris like Chatres!

I watched Reno 911!: Miami, it was OK, but not great, essentially just a longer episode, not really a movie.

Busy Wednesday

Work was busy today and I’ve got some stuff to do tomorrow. I sent off my timesheet and invoice too – the most import job of the week.

After work I went to Dunelm Mills and got the memory foam pillows for the folks, then a nice kebab 🙂

I found I had 40ukp refunded to my PayPal account, I’d forgotten about that – nice surprise!

I got Nascar 2006: Total Team Control for the Xbox, and like most EA Sports games, it’s pretty naff – there’s not even a feeling of speed, i.e. when you’re driving at 180mph it seems no different to 70mph!

Tuesday

I just bought three toner refills and the kit for my new laser printer for 16ukp off ebay!

Work was pretty busy today, gonna be really busy tomorrow with calls.

I’ve paid my last rent now, woo-hoo 18 working days left!

Update: just watched The Contractor, which was an OK Wesley Snipes movie.

Monday sauna

The electricity has been flaky at work today, meaning no air-conditioning, so it’s been 29 degrees in the office!

I installed Fedora 7 on the spare testing laptop. It seems to have a few new apps, and a more standard Gnome install. It has a stupidly large number of services enabled by default – such as ISDN and Sendmail.

I took a slow walk across the [cool] park at work and went to the post office to get my mail forwarding setup, and send off Dad’s Fathers Day card.

Sunday

Just watched Blind Dating, which was an alright romantic comedy about a blind guy going on dates.

I backed up my FC5 install and tried to restore it into VMWare Server, although it wouldn’t get past the grub prompt. I tried a grub-install, but still didn’t fix it, which is weird, as I’ve done this before with FC3.

I’ve had to resort to cheating at FarCry Instincts Evolution, as I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the burning shanty town level.
