Mouthwash adventures

Here’s a life hint for you – when shopping for mouthwash, be sure not to get disenfectant instead! I had a bit of an ulser in my mouth so thought I’d get some mouthwash to sooth it a bit, but was rushing around Tesco’s and just grabbed the green bottle in with the toothpaste and stuff without reading the label properly. So last night I had a very painful mouth, as skin was flaking off my gums and lips, this morning it doesn’t hurt so much but is swollen so I can’t open my mouth very wide, and my lips look very dehydrated.

Dual Layer

I’ve just burnt four DVD+R DL discs, the first one was a coaster, it seems NeroLinux is a bit crap, the other three were fine when I used k3b. They read OK on my BenQ and NEC drives, as well as the Xbox surprisingly – helped by the BitSetting no doubt. I shall try them on the laptops later. I don’t think I’ll waste the 75p a throw discs on movies, but they’re very handy for backups when 4.

Celebrity Big Bullshit

I just saw on the news that Shilpa (or whatever her name is, as Jade would say) has just won Celebrity Big Brother, what a crock! So the way to win now is to accuse the housemates of being racist, then when the sponsors start leaving get forced by Channel4 to say it was all a big mistake, or maybe bridbed with a win if you calm down perhaps….? Well I expect Jade and the show are ruined now anyway, but at least the failing Bollywood star got another fifteen minutes of fame.

Upgraded blog

Just upgraded the blog to WordPress 2.1. Not many new features it seems, but lots of bug/security fixes. I updated my plugins and the theme doesn’t seem to have broken like previous updates.

Saturday morning

Just been into town to get some silicone lubricant for my PC’s northbridge fan which was making a right racket. It seems to be OK now – I had to dust it off too. I picked up a bag of 50 fan screws for a couple of quid too – handy as the six fan’s I’ve ordered probably won’t come with the required 4 screws each. I started playing with Java again, I don’t really like the language but thought it’s something new.
