I got my Linksys WRT54GL working in bridged/client mode today, I installed the WhiteRussian RC6 OpenWRT firmware and it’s now connecting my laptop’s ethernet to my Netgear DG834Gv2 wirelessly, so I’ll be able to put my Xbox on the WLAN when I go home to France. ebuyer are collecting the wrong DVD burner on Monday – I assume via CityLink, so I don’t have to pay any postage to get it replaced with the correct model.

I figured out why I’ve been tired lately – I’ve eaten a lot of lettuce, and it always makes me sleepy. I’ve just watced Poseidon 2006, it was pretty good actually. I just got my router and DVD burner from ebuyer, but they’ve sent me the wrong burner, so gotta go through the hassle of getting it returned via recorded delivery or whatever and getting RMA’s, then probably having to pick up the replacement from CityLink again….

Earlier I watched Borat, which was quite funny, but basically just his USA programs stitched together into a feature length episode. Not as good as the Ali G movie. I also watched the South Park episode where Steve Irwin goes to Satan’s halloween party and gets told off for dressing as the Crocodile Hunter, cos that’s kinda sick dude, when he says he is him, he gets chucked out for not wearing a costume!

I’ve wasted most of today installing Fedora Core 6 on my laptop! The main reasons for upgrading fro FC5 to 6 are AIGLX desktop effects, rt2x00 wireless/NetworkManager and Xen3. Well, none of those have actually worked – my Geforce 420Go doesn’t seem to like the new 9629 Nvidia drivers, so AIGLX won’t work – I only just managed to get 8776 to install after faking up a config.h; the Xen kernel seems to break everything – including compiling VMWare; and the rt2x00 drivers compile but don’t seem to work with NetworkManager, or system-config-network for that matter, and made reverting to rt2500 a bitch.

I watched Be Cool last night, it was pretty good actually, lots of stars. I sorted out bloody Nationwide this morning, they’d put my account on hold again because the mail bounced, so now they’ve finally got my new address right and the account should be back on Monday. Then I went and had my hair cut, 6.50ukp is pretty good. Mum just phoned and we had a nice chat. They’ve been keeping busy, the cats are fine and Dad’s even done my loft door!
