Monday

I’ve just watched Stranger Than Fiction, which was pretty weird, star-studded, and bloody good! It was a comedy, psychological “thriller” and love story all in one.

Work was busy today, I had a few audio’s, a face-to-face meeting and some follow-up work to do as well as trying to hack into a couple of Sun boxes. I also got some printing and posting of accounts done.

The weather’s still awful, raining all day and very grim looking skies.

Sunday

I installed my new 250Gb hard disk in my PC, getting it setup under Linux was just a case of running fdisk to reinitialise the partition, mkfs.jfs to format it and jfs_tune to change the disk labels about a bit, then updating the fstab with the new mountpoint.

I tried my external SATA enclosure out with the other 250Gb and it didn’t go so well – I plugged it into the VIA (Nvidia?) SATA controller instead of the SIL3114 and it seems to identify it as IDE in the BIOS, and tries to boot from it, which is annoying, when I changed the boot order, Linux seems to stall. So I’ll keep it as USB2 until I fancy playing around a bit more, and get Fedora7 installed.

Saturday

I went to see Kev and fit his new hard disks, we forgot some key components as usual so ended up going to Maplins this morning to get Molex-to-SATA power adaptors. Luckily my eSATA enclosure had the right type of power connector, so we got the formatting/copying done using that on Friday night. I’m very pleased with that enclosure, it worked fine in both USB and SATA mode with the 500Gb Seagate and the 250Gb WD drives.

Bank Holiday Monday

In true Bank Holiday style, it’s pissing down with rain – it’s one of the constants of the universe!

Just watched The Ex, which was OK. I’ll probably watch Venus later.

I had a kebab last night with leftovers this morning, I don’t know what it is with the kebab industry these days – you get almost no sauce anymore, and what you do get is like sandwich spread or something weird. And why do they ask if you want sauce or salad – does anyone really just have pita and meat? And I bet they don’t charge you less for only having half the ingredients!

Sunday morning

Just watced White Noise 2, and it was really good, all except the ending which seemed a little rushed. It even features Starbuck from Battlestar Galactica.

I had a lovely salad today as I found a load of leftover spring onions, cucumber and celery in my fridge that I’d forgotten about, just added some lettuce with some cheese and ham.

I’ve got to find some more Xbox games as I’ve finished Call Of Duty 3 and am fed up of my older games. I might try upgrading XBMC2.
